I’ve not been in a position to blog recently. My laptop has been malfunctioning (i.e., crashing often enough to prevent me from working) and an ongoing project at work has meant I’ve not had as much time to deal with it or pursue side-projects as much as I’d like.

I thought I might overcome these problems last week when I received a Chromebook for my birthday – an Acer CB3-111 which I’d planned to install Ubuntu on remove all the friction from my current writing situation. But the native operating system was corrupted as soon as I turned it on and the screen so flickery as to be unusable that I had to take it back. There were none of the same model left in stock so I had no choice but to ask for a refund. So I’m on the lookout again for a lightweight, portable laptop-style device that will allow me to keep writing and developing.

I hope to write up the project at work once it’s over and I have time to reflect on it properly.
